Workload

As I sit here reflecting on my week, I can’t help but feel grateful for the little breather I’ve had with my second day off. Itโ€™s the summer holidays so Iโ€™m spreading out the annual leave for childcare. Recently my workload has felt like a lot. Like a weight on my shoulders to be honest. My boss asked me at the start of the week how I was doing and I answered honestly, I said I felt like I had lost my spark. We talked about what needed to be prioritised, what could be handed to someone else and we talked about the future as we are looking to recruit some new team members.

Currently business partnering with 10 senior managers, which is a lot! Also leading three projects around HR Reporting, Onboarding and the People Experience Handbook. All things Iโ€™m passionate about and deep down donโ€™t want to give up. I reluctantly decided that I would ask someone else in the Core HR team to lead the People Experience Handbook. I think itโ€™s important to recognise that I canโ€™t do everything and something has to give before I keel over!

At the end of the day we are all only human. We all have our limits, and it’s crucial to be kind to ourselves. This journey of balancing work and personal life reminds me that being honest about our challenges and seeking support can lead to positive changes and a healthier, more fulfilling path ahead.
